In less than 24 hours, two bridges collapsed in Russia's Bryansk and Kursk regions, both bordering Ukraine. On May 31, a highway bridge in Bryansk collapsed onto railway tracks, derailing a passenger train and killing at least seven people, with 69 injured. Authorities cited "illegal interference" as the cause, suggesting possible sabotage. Hours later, on June 1, a freight train derailed in Kursk's Zheleznogorsk district after a bridge collapse, injuring one crew member. Both incidents are under investigation amid ongoing tensions in the region.
