Raspadskaya has launched operations at a newly developed longwall face at the Yesaulskaya mine, located 450 meters underground. The section holds around 1.5 million tonnes of GZ-grade coking coal and spans 206 meters in length. Preparatory work involved 6 kilometers of underground development, with coal extraction expected to continue for about a year. This move strengthens Raspadskaya’s production capacity within its broader mining network, which includes Russia’s largest coking coal mine and several other major operations. The commissioning aligns with ongoing efforts to maintain output despite broader challenges in Russia’s coal sector.
